Proof of Residency?

Recommended Posts

As Carl mentioned. Mail is generally accepted as proof of residence in Oregon. I don't think they ever specified what kind of mail is required. Perhaps you could just have a friend or co-worker send a card to your wife.

Don't you have any receipts or other correspondence from the INS sent to your house?

I solved that problem real quick. I bought my wife a house with some land!...lol. No one can argue with a deed and title in hand showing her name and the address!

I added my wife to the auto insurance. I also got her a credit card. A week or so after that, junk mail delivered by the postman had her name all over it! We have more than enough to prove her residence just by junkmail alone!

But the very first thing that had her name and address on it was a doctor's bill. That came in handy to prove her residence early on.
