# **⛰Hua Mountain in Xi'an**

😲I was there in 2013 and my legs still shaking when I recall the day!

👍It is well-known for its sheer cliffs and plunging ravines. It is known as "the most precipitous mountain under heaven" and is probably the most dangerous mountain in the world frequented by hikers.

〽️There are five peaks that make up the mountain: Cloud Terrace Peak (North Peak, 1614m), Jade Maiden Peak (Middle Peak, 2042m), Sunrise Peak (East Peak, 2100m), Lotus Peak (West Peak, 2083m), and Landing Wild Goose Peak (South Peak, 2155m).

Lanyan village is about 40 km southwest from Guilin city. Their ancestors moved here from Jiangxi province during Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD) in late 1500s. All the villagers share a common surname of Peng. There are crystal creaks in front of the village and green mountains behind, which is considered a perfect location according to the philosophy of Fengshui. Moreover, there are ancient stone arch bridges, huge maples, sunk holes and karst caves around. Next time, when you are visiting Guilin area, this village is a highly recommended destination.

Summit of Wudang Mountain

Wikipedia - For centuries, the mountains of Wudang have been known as an important center of Taoism, especially famous for its Taoist versions of martial arts or Taichi.

On Chinese maps, the name "Wudangshan" (Chinese:

武当山) is applied both to the entire mountain range (which runs east-west along the southern edge of the Han River, crossing several county-level divisions of Shiyan), and to the group of peaks located within Wudangshan subdistrict of Danjiangkou, Shiyan. It is the latter specific area which is known as a Taoist center.
