Randy W
On 7/8/2021 at 9:59 PM, Randy W said: Someone's got balls (the drone operator) Flying over the Fanjing Mountain from China Highlights on Facebook https://fb.watch/v/45a3xBVlJ/ There is a scattered place in southwestern China that just looking at it makes you shiver. Not from fear but from emotion. A magical place with a mysterious aura, suspended between the green of the forest and the white of the clouds. It is the Fanjingshan, or natural reserve of Mount Fanjing, in the Guizhou province, the highest of the Wuling mountain range, with its 2,572 meters high, where many species of plants still alive today, some even dating back to the Tertiary Era, and animals, including specimens considered at risk. It is no coincidence that in 2018 it became a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which classified it as a biosphere reserve, the only primary forest ecosystem that has been preserved almost intact at this latitude. But it is not only the natural beauty that sets it apart because Mount Fanjing is also a sacred place. The Chinese call it the bodhimaṇḍa (or "place of enlightenment") of the Maitreya Buddha, and there are numerous ancient temples for devoted pilgrims, some destroyed, some still intact. The first built on the site date back to the Tang dynasty, from the 7th to the 10th century. from World Beauties and Wonders on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/worldbeautiesandwonders/posts/230185595753287 Edited September 12, 2021 by Randy W (see edit history) Link to comment

It's difficult to build such a big hotel on top of the mountain Huangshan Yupinglou Hotel Jade Screen Tower Hotel To get to this mountain-top hotel you have to climb up 60,000 steps – or take the cable car. If you choose to climb the stairs you are in for an exciting time. Randy W
Architect was never a formal profession in ancient China, but numerous Chinese literati and intellectuals delved deeply into architectural design. Famous Tang Dynasty (618-907) poet Bai Juyi was just one. He believed that a good poem should have a theme, as should a building. This kind of thinking led ancient Chinese architecture to always have expressive function. Every single component can carry some special meaning, demonstrating the skillful craftsmanship and artistic imagination of the builders. Chinese architecture not only displays great beauty, but also captures unique Chinese culture with every detail. from China Pictorial on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/ChinaPic/posts/4203900976401926 Link to comment
