Xianggong Mountain(相公山) is one of the best viewing platforms for #Guilin’s landscape. Overlooking the clear Lijiang #River and adjoining #mountains is enjoyable here! A small tip: the best place to take stunning photos is in the lower level of the highest viewing platform. #WorldPhotographyDay #nature #photography

Democracy is not Coca Cola, which, with the syrup produced by the United States, tastes the same across the world.  If there is only one drink, the world will be dull. If there is only one model of #democracy, the world will be lifeless.

The Black Diamond apple (嘎啦果) is a rare breed from the family of Huaniu apples that is cultivated in Tibet. Despite what the name suggests, the apple rather is a purple hue, with white pulp on the inside. Its unique color is due to the region's high altitude of over 3,500 m. The temperature fluctuates wildly between day and night, with the apples being exposed to a lot of UV light, which is conducive to the dark skin. Belonging to the high-end segment of the market, the average Black Diamond Apple costs about 7.60 USD. Many farmers are reluctant to grow the fruit, since its maturity process can take up to eight years.

Shaanxi was the political center of the Sui (581-618) and Tang (618-907) dynasties, a border region of the Song (960-1279) and Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) dynasties, and an important transportation node along the ancient Silk Road. Both during war and peace, the place was deeply influenced by Buddhism culture, as evidenced by the plethora of Buddha statues in the grottoes.
The grottoes in Shaanxi Province are newer and far less famous than the #MogaoGrottoes and #YungangGrottoes. However, the Shaanxi grottoes remain renowned for quantity and some special grottoes built after the Song (960–1279) and Jin (1115–1234) dynasties.
Deep in the Loess Plateau of Northern Shaanxi is a unique Buddhist relic from the Song Dynasty: #ZhongshanGrottoes, which has been hailed as China’s most magnificent Buddhist building. The grottoes feature countless and various Buddha statues carved with fine workmanship shining in caves with rich colors and beautiful glaze.
