Visa delivery curiosity

Hi folks,

 

This one has been worrying me for a while now. as I'm leaving in about a day and a half to get to Yifang to be with her for her interview, it's come to the front of my brain (long trip, sometimes!)

 

As the NVC issued the interview letter, the only thing my wife and I have been able to do with CGI stanley is to put in her info for the UID number, and enter her home address for delivery of documents, once she passes the interview. There's no way we can go any further on the site, as her case number is not recognized by CGI Stanley. So we can't go into the "schedule an interview" part of the website or any other place. - we don't need to anyway...but this brings up a big question. And the only answers I've gotten from the CGI Stanley site has been "The NVC has scheduled your interview" and they conveniently avoid answering the real question.

 

Once Yifang passes the interview, how do we check where her passport, visa, POE package, etc is in the process? According to what I have read, folks seem to track that progress on the CGI Stanley site....some kind of tracker there, which I don't seem to have access to. Is there another way to track where all these things are? Anyone have a clue?

Warren, the NVC schedules it and CGI is just like a word problem in math back in grade school giving you minimal information. Or it is like some Chinese who give short blunt answers with NO explanations. It's just the way they are. I talked to them a few times on the phone, and made human suggestions to the guy. He was a young Chinese man. He just didn't think like I do. I think CGI scheduling is for those living in China with their wife for over 2 years and they applied for visas within China direct to the consulate.

I read through the posts in your link, and got some really good info there...thanks!

Th biggest ting I saw was about the tax returns/W2s. I also only had one set in the paperwork I packed, and Yifang and KeYu have separate I-130s, so I'll pack another set before I go. I think you just saved me a hassle, buddy....thanks!!

And I saw the link to the tracker to use for the passport.....thanks for that too!

About 24 hours to go...then on the plane....can't wait!

Step 1

You need these documents to enter the consulate:

1. Your passport.

2. Applointment Letter.

3. Document delivery address

Update the information, choose "IV Address".

If the barcode of your old DS-160 is still on the confirmation page, you need to call them to delete it. Tell them "This time it's CR1, not B2".

Print the confirmation page - you need it when entering the consulate.)

 

Step 2

Chinese staff will collect these documents from you.

4. I-864担保书原件，I-864, original copy.

5. 税单，2014年，2013年，2012年；

1040 with W2 for 2014, 2013, 2012 - photocopy.

6. Confirmation sheet of DS-260

7. Notarized birth certificate.

8. Notarized marriage certificate.

9. Notarized divorce paper.

10 Notarized No Criminal Record

11. The 1st page of your passport and copies of visas, entry/exist records.

12. Two American passport photos (50mm x 50mm, white backgroud)

 

Step 3

Consular officer will interview you for a bona fide relationship.

Get these documents prepared.

13. Photos of you two together and you two with family and friends.

14. 他的护照复印件，中国签证，出入境记录，用过的机票，登机牌。

Copy of Petitoner's passport, Chinese visa, entry/exit records, used boarding pass.

15， 你和你老公沟通联系的证据，如聊天记录，电子邮件，电话单 - 聊天记录和电子邮件，每个月的打印3到5张就行，不用打印太多。

Evidence of communication.

任何沟通联系的证据，包裹单等。

 

Usually consular officer looks at your photos and let you pass.

When you speak English they may not drill on the case.

If they drill deep, consular officer may ask about the ex wives, why Petitioner divorced his ex wife, where are the ex wives, social security numbers of the ex wives.

I think we have all of that and more. LOL..lots more! but it's good to have some double and triple checks!

What I didn't realize was that they would ask for 2 copies of the tax returns and w2's...one set for Yifang, and one set for my stepson.

But I've got them packed now.

Now I'm just waiting to go to the airport tonight...
