More than 300 “ice miners” have created a world of ice and snow in Harbin, China on the banks of the frozen Songhua river. The annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival opened last week, and will continue through February. Many of the ice structures are recreations of actual buildings and items around the world. The ice sculptures are colorfully lit at night, making it one of the best times to visit. Bring your mittens!

Tourists visit ice lanterns at Longqing Gorge Ice and Snow Festival in Yanqing District, one of the venues of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, in Beijing, capital of China.
Themed on the Olympics, the Ice and Snow Festival will be held from February 15 to 28, 2021, providing a good entertaining place for people during the Spring Festival holiday. Each year during the festival about 80 groups of ice lanterns, ice-and-snow sculptures and ice slides are organized along 300 meters of the gorge. Colorful lighting adds to the fun of evening visits.
Located in the northwest suburbs, 80 kilometers from the city proper, Longqing Gorge is a natural scenic spot blending the gracefulness of southern China with the north's power and grandeur. Due to shade from mountains towering on both sides the area has an annual ice period of four months, providing the ideal venue for an ice-lantern festival. #SpringFestival
