Randy W
The restaurant we went to afterwards has their own chicken coops out front. They go out back and catch the chicken when you place your order. This was the view from our window Link to comment
Randy W
Rongxian is famous for its pomelos. These stands lined the main highway through town Link to comment

Mick
Beautiful photos, Randy. Thanks for posting. I miss China so much and not a day goes by that I don't long to return. The five years I spent there were among the happiest of my life. Alas, my docs tell me I can't fly from here to Atlanta (200 miles), much less to the Middle Kingdom. If I go, it will have to be on the famous Slow Boat to China. Link to comment
Randy W
I've added a few more to the album, if you want to take a look. Seems like the most spectacular scenery was the trail itself - http://candleforlove.com/forums/gallery/album/682-rongxian/ Link to comment

Randy W
Went back yesterday. There's a little cluster of restaurants (about 5 or 6) near the top, so we stayed for lunch this time. Link to comment
Randy W
The chickens were as fresh as could be - they kill them and drain the blood right there on the spot Link to comment
Randy W
An especially inviting table setting Link to comment
Mick
Those seats look a bit set back from the table, Randy. Unless they are movable, a feller would need some long arms to reach his vittles. Link to comment
tsap seui
Various times I would be talking to Wenyan when she lived in China. I'd hear the outdoor noises from her walking and doing business with street vendors. A couple of times I'd hear chickens squawking, then "yard bird" silence. Yep, Wenyan had just bought a chicken to prepare for dinner. The old lady selling them would catch em, wring their necks, bleed em, and cut em up into chicken McNuggets right their on the spot in downtown Fushun. How cool? Reminded me of Sunday afternoon's, after my grandfather the Southern Baptist preacher man would preach his sermon, go home and do up a chicken for my grandmother to cook for lunch. Ahh China. Ahh childhood memories of Mt. Holly, NC. tsap seui Link to comment
