hello everyone, my name is doug. my wifes name is ping. i wish i had discovered this website a year a go no a week ago..lol. sure would have been helpful.

i just wanted to share our story. it turned out so good i am still in a bit of shock. so here goes. ping and i met on a dating website in 2010. it was one of those pay sites where you have to pay to chat. pay to read letters, pay to write letters. as i expected when i signed up for the site i got hundreds of letters that read like they had all been written by the same person. wether they were or were not i am not sure. anyways...read a ton of letters, responded to a few then i discovered their chat feature. chatted up a few women but nothing serious. after a week i was ready to call it a day and so was my wallet. then i met ping on the chat feature. she was very warm and kind. we continued to use the chat feature to communicate for about another month when i confided in her that it was very expensive to use...near a dollar a minute. we then set about finding a way to communicate outside the website. when i would send her my email address the site owners would translate like this ##############. gotta keep making that money i guess. so we figured a way around that. like this My name ...at hot..mail dot com, it worked. the block they used on chat feature never picked that up as an email address. after saying so long to the website we started communicating using yahoo chat. after a couple of months we decided it was time to think about meeting. i had already started feeling love for her and we decided to get married and go for a marriage visa instead of the fiancee visa which i thought the fiancee visa would be quicker. so i started getting everything together for what would be my first time out of the country and my first time flying. wow. what a time. then one evening ping came on yahoo and said do you have your single certificate? i was like what is that. she exclaimed it was needed if we were to marry. i had no clue how to get one. at first i thought it was something she had heard she thought i needed but sure enough you need one if you marry a chinese girl, and after all the research i found they are easy to get. but anyway i got my visa, plane ticket and bought me a carryon. took two weeks in vacation from work and made an appt at the consulate in gunagzhou to get the affidavit of marriageability(single cert).

the day of the flight i could not wait to see my bride to be but i was certain that the plane was going to plummet from the sky and that i would probably be the only casualty...lol. after i guess 14 hours of terror we landed in hong kong then i changed planes and hoped for the best. 55 minutes later i was safely on the ground in guangzhou. wow!! i was in china!! first time i was ever outside the usa. now to locate my woman. O...there she is running up to me. well after the inital meeting we went to the hotel to rest. stayed in guangzhou 2 day. i went to the consulate and got the affidavit of marriageability and off to WuZhou we went to get married. we had a great time. her family is kind and inviting. we were married on oct 14, 2011. after a week in her hometown we were off the guangzhou to see about getting her visa. shocker for us!!! you have to wait on those things. so we got a lawyer and began the petition. over the next year we kept in near constant contact using yahoo chat. time came around for my vacation in 2012 in oct so i got ready to fly again. got my visa renewed, bought a ticket and hoped for a quick flight. except for the 5 hour layover in seoul it was quick and enjoyable. ping met me at the airport in guangzhou and we rested there for a day then we went to guilin for a week. that was awesome. truly awesome. we had the best time. then we went to her parents house for a week then i came back home. when i got home word was waiting that her interview was nov 13, i was excited but i knew a NO was very possible. so i readied for that. i found a ton of english teaching jobs in china. i had no intention of going another year without my wife. the day came. she was very tense. we had tried to think about what they would ask her so we had prepared her best we could. i waited for her text. minutes seemed like hours. then she texted me CALL ME. i called her expecting to have to start thinking about life in china but the VO had granted her visa!!!!!!! we were both so happy. now she has her visa in hand and this friday i will buy her plane ticket to come to the states. it was an incredible journey. never in my life did i think i would find one like her. i feel very fortunate to have met and married her and very blessed the government let her come here so easily.
