Lil' rabbit furr soon to be flyin'

Recommended Posts

I'm just gonna miss you, tsap. I'll be at Dulles coming through later Thurs afternoon and wanted to bring you into the Lufthansa club for some libations but the timing is off. Good luck on the flight and your trip, it will certainly be a wonderful reunion!!

Sorry to have missed you Lee. Turns out the non-stop United flight 897 took off on time at 12:30pm and we made it almost out of Canadian airspace when the pilot turned us around back to Dulles because the right engine lost it's de-icer. Landed back in Dulles around 4pm and waited until 8:30 before we took back off for Beijing. Spent the night in Beijing, on United's tab, in the Crowne Plaza in Beijing and got into Shenyang at 10am.

Thanks again to everyone for your well wishes on the interview.

Steve, my bro inlaw has a very thick book on R.Crumb, I thought of you as I read through some of it. He was pretty dang young when he wrote those stories, much younger than I ever thought. What a genius.

Ugh... did the thunderstorms impair your return and departure? They held me on the plane for 3 hours between 5p and 8p trying to get out!

You are lucky they gave you a hotel room! They usually aren't that generous! Was the hotel far from the airport?

The T-storms delayed our leaving the gate to walk on-board the plane. We were to board around 8pm but had to wait a half hour or so as the friendly United guy said, "the ramp to the plane is a metal tube and it is lightening outside, we would let you walk onboard but if anyone got killed the paperwork is such a great hassle... so you must wait." Then there was a delay as we sat on the plane and waited for all the other stacked up planes that had been waiting ahead of us on the T-storms to make their departures.

No, The Crowne Plaza was very close to the Beijing Airport and it must be a 4 1/2 or 5 star hotel, it was very nice....of course I got into bed around 1am and up at 4:30 or 5 am to get back to the airport.

The airlines have so many rules....the original crew we had on the first plane had to be completely replaced, even though we had a plane available as soon as we got back to Dulles (United frantically was calling for pilots and crew members) then once we got on the plane they said they had to restock the food because it had been loaded on at 10am and would be too old for us to eat 12 hours later. United took a terrible beating on that flight, I'll bet they dumped 10's of thousands of dollars of fuel from the US border all the way back to Dulles in order to lighten the plane for landing. Some people had to stay in the hotel for 3 days to catch another flight to western China, etc.

United took it on the chin and I mean as soon as I deplaned in Beijing there was United workers with our names on papers who handed us new plane tickets and vouchers for hotels and food. We were given a solution that was so good it was hard to complain, but you know American travelers, there is always some who have to be arrogant asses and cry about their rights and inconvienence. All the Chinese took it in stride that I could see and most Americans did the same.

I for one was thankful to be in Beijing, have a place to shower and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, but I saw two crotchity Americans that had to complain that it cost 20 rmb a day to hook up to the damned internet...I politely asked them to get the F out of my way so I could get to my room. Go cry to someone who gives a rats ass. Sometimes it is a real pain traveling with other Americans what with their pampered pompus asses.

I felt we were lucky to get back ahead of the storms and load up when we did. Sitting on the plane for 3 hours is MUCH worse than sitting in the gate for the same time...the plane quickly gets smaller and smaller in my book, and there is no place to get away from the complainers.

I realize we need all the safety guards and rules in place but buddy, I would hate to have to run any business with that many money losing rules to follow. It is no wonder all of the airlines are in the terlet.

United got an A+ from me on this mess.

Hey Uncle Tsap ;

Why are you up so early ?

You didn't get good stuff from your rabbit ??? unless you're a hell of a macho man ?

No real macho man, jes a good multi-tasker, especially when it comes to playin' with this here very willing lil' rabbit. While I may be pissin' Chinese water my internal clock is still a bit off...add in the fact that I don't need a lot of sleep (and have severe PTSD sleep related issues) and I am up at all kinds of weird times, nothin' new.

Well Kyle, I do have this 98 pounds of "joy" to put me back to sleep. I do enjoy being back in Chinertucky, in Beijing I had the distinct feeling that I had "come home", then saw the lil' rabbit in the Shenyang airport and KNEW I was home.

Funny thing is, I have not left our home since I walked into the door. I will get back into my walking routine in the mornings but we have been so busy with each other, and sorting out the evidence for the interview and working in that vein that there has been no reason to even go outside...yet, anyway.

Don, that ceiling eye-hook is holding up just fine. I can't imagine hooking up for a lil' spinning pleasure with lil' crazy rabbit and wakin' up in a hospital with a terlet seat wrapped around my neck.

I Know this is your time Tsap to bring your sweetheart home. Enjoy your time in chinertucky

You got it my man. We have been putting the finishing touches and work on our interview, but we are taking the whole thing in stride and with humor. We know this trip is the first one out of the many where I won't be saying goodbye and us having to part at it's end, a pretty relaxing feeling in and of itself.

Thanks for your sentiments.

I know you are getting plenty of exercise, but get back to your walking asap - it's good for the old ticker. As a fellow member of the zipper club, I salute you for yer stamina and acrobatics with that eyehook Don was tawkin' about! Now don't forget yer meds.....even those damnable beta blockers, which on occasion, have been rumored to take the lead outta yer pencil....but ifin' you don't take nitrates, I guess you could take atair Viagrer or atair Seeallis....I take nitrates, so I cain't enjoy emair four hour marathons. Course, with my heart, four hours and I'd be sailin' up that tunnel toward the light....

All kidding aside tsap, our thoughts and prayers are with you and the little rabbit. If ever a couple deserves a visa and a fair shake, it is you guys.

Oh how I love a certain part of my anotomy being used as a "fulcrum" as that there lil' rabbit spins through th eair with the greatest of ease.

Actualy guys, it isn't my back that is in concern here, it's lil' rabbits back that is hurting a little. She's telling me to lighten up a lil' bit on the her legs over my shoulders manuevers...opps, pardon me ma'am.

She laughs at me and keeps tellin' me I am supposed to be old but I act like a young man, I tell her it's her that is making me young, and that is the truth, I swear it is.

Lil' rabbit is a pure pleasure to be with, we spend our days laughing about any and everything. She is a riot and like me is always looking for the funny side of life, I couldn't be more well matched, not even if I got to write the script. She is simply a blessing in a Chinese disguise.

God I want her to be able to live in America with me, to see the wonderment in her eyes as I take her places and introduce her to a new culture. I love it here in China and we can easily make it here if we must but I so want to take her and our son to my country, to have the ability to make our own choice as to where we live.

I appreciate all of your blessings and feelings and encouragement about what we are facing in 12 days. I have always felt like a family member here and enjoyed seeing so many have success at their interviews. Mick, guys like and I have that certain brotherhood of something we lived to be here from so long ago and you know your encouragement and thoughts are special to me.

I love the humor on Candle, reading posts like good ol' Crezba's, and the feeling of warmth and fiendship from all.

Opps, what's that lil' rabbit? You want to try the coffee table again....Scuse me fellers, while I whip this out. Duty calls, or is that affairs of state? Meanwhile, Al Green sings in the background while his band lays down that ancient tribal beat of bumpin' 'n grindin'till ya wind up in a puddle wrapped in yer ladies arms....oh how I cherish "soul" music from the 60's and 70's, it's like....like, pornography to the ears.
