Arrival Back To USA

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Been awhile since I posted. My Wife will be coming back to USA this Saturday and hopefully have a stress free arrival. There is a Custom Declaration Form that she needs to complete. She doesn't know English aside from few basic words. I downloaded the form and currently editing it with her info so she can print it out and carry it with her to fill out what I put down. Her plane ticket was purchased using her maiden name as I was told here in the forums because her Chinese Passport. She does have Green Card with Married name. She has all documents and proof that we are married just in case the officer ask. When filling out the form, I assume she is using maiden name, Passport Issued by (Country) is CHINA and not the US Green Card. Country of Residence umm...USA?!, Countries Visited on this (CHINA). Everything else is straightforward.

Thanks,

Vinny and Qing

Have her look in the back of the airline inflight magazine, on most flights I have flown that magazine has instructions as to how to fill out that form in many languages including Chinese.

Or this may help: http://www.chinesetr...c/form6059b.htm

Anyway, according to CBP should have forms in Chinese per a post back in 2002, but knowing the .GOV I suspect it has not happened yet.

The new declaration is the same weight and size as the current declaration, and questions now read from top to bottom. The form is printed in blue with white response boxes and will be available in 16 languages (Spanish, French, Vietnamese, Arabic, Chinese (simplified characters), Chinese (traditional characters), Dutch, Farsi, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, and Russian).

Sounds like you have the assumptions correct.

On my most recent trip back from Guilin on April 27th, the man sitting next to me was handed a blue/white customs form that was in Chinese. This was on American Airlines from Shanghai to Chicago.

It seems they had them on my flight in February also. Also the Flight Attendants are very helpful with any questions in Chinese as well.

Good Luck

Paul
