NewDay2006
My wife told me she can't get facebook in China. I'm not sure if it was blocked since Egypt had thier problems or before. China is not taking any chances
Randy W
It's been a long term blockage - in fact, we've even heard (not true) rumors that it may be removed.
Kyle
It's been blocked for a while now - It was blocked in China while I was over there. Youtube was another site that was often blocked. My wife and I used Witopia's personalVPN to bypass the firewall. http://www.witopia.net/index.php/products/ It worked well, but I did notice that Witopia has bumped up the price since I've last purchased it. Urkidding
When I was there in December... Facebook was blocked. I too used my own VPN and was able to post. Not sure if I had any spies trying to track me down but I made it out alive...
jonp31
It's been blocked since summer 2009. There was some unrest/rioting going on in Xinjiang at that time and from what I heard it was blocked in conjunction with that because of groups formed on Facebook to "Support the Revolution." Not sure if that was the real reason for the censorship or not, but in any case that was the time frame.

MoonCarolCafe
any free vpn????? Free VPN are pretty much worth what you pay for them. A proper VPN is relatively inexpensive.

Randy W
Not sure he has anything to complain about (if "Beast" can set up "a type of page reserved for businesses and public figures", why can't he?), but he does anyway - China blogger angered over losing Facebook account
