AngryTexan
To my fellow Texans: Sometime in early January, I plan to go to Washington and visit the offices of Senators Hutchison and Cornyn, as well as those of the Texas house delegation. If you would be interested in having me hand deliver a letter on your behalf, or, better yet, if you would like to go with me, please drop me an e-mail. Thanks! Link to comment
Guest bbridges51
Feeling like Don Quixote, are we? oh, to dream the impossible dream. Brian Link to comment
Robert S.
I would love to see you be successful but will you please tell why you believe you are even going to be allowed inside the building? I went to my congressman's office once--in 1972. But now I would bet the building is off limits completely. Do you have an appointment? Link to comment
AngryTexan
The Senate and House Office Buildings are NOT "off limits" . Link to comment
AngryTexan
It may sound like Don Quixote, but I have to believe that it is a more effective strategy than just j---ing off on the net. Link to comment
owenkrout
An effective stategy I believe, but won't they be in recess right then? If they are, you would have better luck at their offices in Texas, I would think. Being in China, I have a good excuse for not accompanying you. Link to comment
skibum
If you talk to KBH I think you should ask her how Yao Ming and his family were able to get visas so quickly. Link to comment
AngryTexan
You are absolutely right Skibum. As I recounted in an earlier passage, I was in the Compaq Center the night he made his debut, with his parents present, and I was seething. Here we are, being "governed" by an administration which regularly touts its adherence to "family values", and yet, accomodating a multi-millionaire NBA team owner takes prioroty over reuniting thousands of families. You should also know that KBH intervened on behalf of Dallas Mavericks owner, and billionaire, Mark Cuban, to expedite visas for some of his European players. Yet, her office will not even acknowledge my letters and e-mails, and her staff will not take or return my phone calls. Link to comment
PJ
Which part of Texas are you from? The reason I am curious is because I did my undergraduate studies in Houston. Fun city, lot of culture. A bit more humid than I would like during the summer, though. P.J. Link to comment
