jimu07
Good day to everyone here, hope all is well in each and everybody's world.. I am in China and we have gotten married, will return the end of Aug and will send out the I-130.. Two questions I have, First do I have to still send the I-129 as well or is that now obsolete? Second since the electronic processing has begun what seems to be the average timeline for completion. I know thet vary but am curiouus if it is faster now. Thanks for any input or advice.. Best wishes and happiness to all of us. Jimu Link to comment
Randy W
The I-129F is free and optional, no more "obsolete" than it's ever been, just much less likely to be useful. It's your choice whether to file it or not, AFTER you receive the NOA1 for the I-130. It CAN provide a backup, if the I-130 somehow gets stalled - not sure what the odds are these days of that happening, but they're fairly low. It's your choice to file, if you think it's worth the extra paperwork. It will often be canceled by the NVC or GUZ, if the two files (I-130 and K-3) are there at the same time. The I-130 timeline can be as little as 3 to 4 months. It's VERY unlikely that a K-3 would beat that. Edited July 30, 2010 by Randy W (see edit history) Link to comment
Zhou Zhou
Our CR-1 was pre-electonic filing...from sending the I-130 to POE was 450 days. I'm sure these days that y'all can beat that by a kilometer or two. ZZ Link to comment

From the web , it seems that 6 - 7 months from start to finish ??? absence of any problem , of course. Edited July 31, 2010 by dnoblett (see edit history) Link to comment
