Sam and Fen
It was one of my rare days off today so I took her to the Casino to spend the day and we ended up leaving in 15 minutes flat. I changed some money to play the slots. After about 5 minutes she grabs all the money and says LETS GO! NOW, This machine only eat money.I tried reasoning with her that we are here to have some fun I always thought the Chinese like to gamble. Link to comment
TLB
... Yeah. Everything in America is bad. China is also bad, but God help me if I say that. It's cute how her nationalism also sparks up when she's been watching Chinese TV on the internet. She recently watched a series of shows about Bruce Lee (produced by CCTV). It essentially portrayed Bruce Lee as a Chinese mystic who came to America and taught American college professors about the glories of Chinese thinking and culture. Which is slightly different from the story I remember about a guy who came here fleeing the Hong Kong mob and then sold out his religion to make money in Hollywood finally dying of a prolonged drug overdose. I suppose those were particularly esoteric Raybans he used to wear? My girl was spikey with pro-China feeling for a week. I find the "love-hate" relationship that most Chinese have with China fascinating... and slightly annoying. It's funny how Chinese and Americans can be so a like sometimes. Both love their countries, warts and all. Try having a rational discussion with your Chinese spouse about Taiwan or Tibet. or Cuba,Panama, Mexico, PRVN,Guam,Okinawa and Texas. Texas? TEXAS?!? The Chinese argue with people about TEXAS? Wow, we're even more important than I thought! (a dangerous direction for a Texan to go...) As for the "we got it from Mexico", actually (1) no, we didn't, and (2) to be truthful, pretty much every part of the USA was taken from somebody! Link to comment

Sam and Fen
I guess Casinos strengthen the Chinese opinion of America being this big bad place. and if that does not work I could always take her to a strip club. Link to comment

If ya do, get a lap dance so she will fully understand what that is. She'll feel empowered by her new found knowledge of America. I love lap dances but I love my penis even more. Link to comment

It probably does do that with some Chinese, but I read somewhere that Las Vegas is one of the favorite places in the US for Chinese to visit. Link to comment

Not really. Most of them already have this opinion and they have an amazing ability to classify anything in the USA as bad that is also practiced to the same or excessive degree in China (i.e. Casinos, corrupt practices, prostitution). Scott@Hong
Many Chinese men love gambling, and any Chinese woman that was married to one of these men will hate gambling.Chinese women that have not been married to the aforementioned Chinese man will moderately like to gamble with small amounts of money. My wife hates gambling so you can guess what classification her first husband fell into. Edited May 29, 2010 by Scott@Hong (see edit history) Link to comment
