Thinking this was a temporary fluke, I turned on my vpn service and tried again. Sure enough, it loaded without any problem. After further research, it looks like China has added the website to their list of "no-no" sites. It looks like a documentary may be to blame. This is getting really ridiculous! Really, I just created this thread to let you know imdb is now inaccessible from within China. I use to look things up on IMDB to show my wife and simply change "IMDB" to "MOV6" in the address and BING instant Chinese info for the same movie. Link to comment

I use www.firstprivacy.info as a proxy (is usually good enough), and then (he and I both) use WitOpia - the VPN is NOT necessary for getting to blocked sites, but it helps with sites like FaceBook, YouTube, etc and provides an extra level of security Edited January 16, 2010 by Randy W (see edit history) Link to comment

I haven't used a proxy website yet that allows me to view streaming media (with any consistency).
