tonado
http://www.cnn.com/2010/TRAVEL/01/12/delta...fees/index.htmlFly Southwest or Jetblue to avoid first bag fees. Or fly non-USA carriers for international travels. I don't know about international baggage fees for domestic carriers.
Guest Tony n Terrific
These greedy bastards try and squeeze you a for every nickle. This translates into an additional $55 pure profit dollars if you register on line, $60 if you do it at the ticket counter for these Sows to swill on. Eric
At least Delta is still allowing 2 checked bags free of charge on most international flights (including Asia). But I am sure that it is only a matter of time before they change that also.

dnoblett
hey stop whinging, its free enterprise , it"s what makes America the best and strongest Exactly, the airlines had to cut to the bone to avoid rasing prices when the cost of fuel went up, so to do so they had to cot things like meals, bagage etc, many domestic travelers had been traveling light and using their carry on as their primary bag. So they charge extra for all the extra that many were not using. The airlines are running very close to margin and not making a profit, this is why you see some of the big ones going bankrupt in the past few years.
