starting the process

Recommended Posts

myself and my fiance are just begining the process of getting her here I would like to hear from people who have been through the process and have any advice?

also I was wondering if she should have all her translated documents notarized it seems as if getting things notarized there is very expensive we know the docs have to be certified translations but we are not sure on notarization.

Thanks all

Welcome Skypilot,

You'll find a wealth of information here. You can read many of our stories, and hopefully you can get a pretty good idea of the challenges you'll face as you wind your way through this process.

As you can tell from my timeline, it's neither quick nor easy! But, it was well worth it!

Practically any situation that you can imagine in regards to issuance of a fiancee visa has been encountered by at least one of our members. Just use the search function!

Good Luck, and Best Wishes

The translations of documents in China are done at the local notary office in China they are notary translations.

For K-1 the required docs from China needed at the time of interview can be found here: http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/up...m169-May_09.pdf

Note this is needed at the time of interview NOT when filing the I-129F petition to USCIS.
