Chinese Drywall

Recommended Posts

The Chinese Drywall story is in the news again: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8326621.stm

It is a positive sign of progress in China that the government officials are cooperating with the US in investigating this problem.

I was wondering if anyone had heard of this drywall being used and causing problems in China?

Hmmmmm....seems the only drywall i have seen in any china home is about eight inches thick and hard as concrete....Billy Maze (rest his soul) would have had a hard time selling the chinese those hooks you push through the wall to hang pictures etc.

I have to agree most of what I have seen are made of Concrete the "modern reasonably ones that is". My wife seemed to be absolutely amazed that Americans use wood, brick and blocks in most construction of homes. She would keep asking me if I thought that it was strong enough or what if you have a fire etc. Some of her issue I could not argue with.

I have not heard or read of any problems with the drywall in China.
