HaoRan
I will be coming back with my wife in October and we need to know how much time we should allow to get through customs and to our next flight. I was thinking 4 hours should be fine and not rushed. Is this too much, about right, or.... ??? Thanks in advance
dnoblett
3-4 hours is good, especially if your first flight is delayed for some reason.
Richard & Li
I would make 3-4 hours a minimum. The 'lines' (herds) can be very large in China. Domestic flights seem to be delayed frequently there too (from my experience).
chilton747
Our wait was 3 hours in customs alone.

shadeOgray
We went through Dallas and took maybe an hour.
dnoblett
For us Chicago took about 2 hours when my wife came to the USA, for me on other trips, Chicago was a little less time. I have also used Detroit, and Newark for international trips, and they also seem to be 1.5 hours or so to clear. But as others have said, 3-4 hours is a safe margin to give yourself.
