karen&ivan
But, shouldn't we all try to focus on how far we have come in this long process instead of who's ahead of whom at this late stage. Delays and processing times seem to vary a lot and certainly don't appear to be rational.I can't agree with you more ... Link to comment
robhon
I hope no one has misconstrued anything I've said about timelines. I think it's important for all of us to be aware of how long many people here have been waiting. The only thing I've been trying to figure out is GZ. I don't believe they care who any of us are or how long any of us has been waiting, nor do I think they care if we have to wait longer. As far as I can determine (with little or no imperical evidence) each of us is just a stack of paper. One stack of paper is as good as the next. If your stack of paper is closer to their desk, you get processed first. Hense, last-in/first-out. I honestly don't think GZ is literally trying to use a LIFO system. It's worse than that. I still see some Oct P3 Pit Crew folks who haven't received any notice. It's just bloody random!! ...which is the worst system of all! Somehow in this system (or lack thereof) it's been forgotten that there are actual human beings with real lives and real loved ones on this end. Possibly I'm being too harsh. I've got a huge stake in this, with a new baby and all. But then again maybe I'm not being too harsh. I certainly don't envy GZ in their work. But their work and our lives would both be greatly improved if they processed things in a rational manner. Link to comment

But their work and our lives would both be greatly improved if they processed things in a rational manner. I have to agree with you. Many of you started this process a long time ago and have waited much longer than others. The thing that fries my eggs is the inconsistency, shear randomness and gross mismanagment of the Guangzhou Consulate in processing our cases. I would have no problem waiting my turn, if I knew when my turn would be? If GZ said it would take 6 months and everybody would be processed in the order received, then I would just sit back and wait. But obviously thats not the case here, they have created a situation where everybody feels they must bombard the system with e-mails and faxes and phone calls so as not to be left on bottom of the pile on somebody's desk. It is the same bureaucratic mismanagement typical with many goverment agencies, no one is held responsible, so the problem is never addressed and grows and grows out of control until there is a public outcry. Unfortunatley for us it is our lives and futures families at stake here. Link to comment
JerryL
I just got this two liner from GuangzhouIV this morning... Please note that the case number should be: GUZ2003311XXX. And we will mailout an instruction packet to your fiancée soon. Guangzhou IV So it looks like I did get a new GUZ number, contrary to some of the cases discussed here... Does 311 make sense in the context of the formulas posted here? Did anyone else in the pit crew get new GUZ numbers? Also, does this mean I can go ahead and have my fiancee send the P3 forms back without getting the packet from the consulate? (DS-230 Part I, the checklist, and the supplmentary info list). We've had the forms ready to go for months! JerryWell Jerry..........at least that's progress!.....not too much longer! My brain no longer knows what "not too much longer" is anymore... I was thinking that back in August and the phrase means nothing to me now... Jerry Link to comment
se_lang
I just started this process I am only 60 days into TSC but everybody talks about contacting GZ about delays with P3 has anyone contacted the Embassy in Beijing this I would think is their boss I think when the people in Beijing are taking time reading letters about GZ they might get a bit annoyed and do something, think about it when you go to wal-mart and the clerk says sorry cant help you what is your next response, mine is "let me see your manager" maybe a group complaint hand written and passed around the CFL members to be mailed to Beijing Via DHL, as individuals we have no power base CFL has over 600 members not to mention all the other different groups we all need to find a way to pull together as a group so we can be heard, Maybe a group trip to GZ,what do you think GZ or Beijing would think with a bunch of pissed Americans standing around outside talking to news agencies, Call me naive or ignorant but I know until we make ourselves heard nothing will change Link to comment
