C4Racer
Lisa's parents passed their IR5 interview. So they will be coming to the US to live with us. Seems like I've heard the green card gets automatically mailed once they enter the US through POE. Is that the way it happens or is their something else we need to do. POE will most likely be Seattle. Link to comment
warpedbored
Congratulations Mike!!!!! I would assume it's the same as a CR-1 and will be mailed after POE. Bing's POE was Seattle, while I was waiting for her I asked them if they had Chinese translators in the customs and immigration area. I was assured they do. Have her parents ask when they come in. Randy W
Congratulations! Shouldn't need any translation. Just make sure they know where to go to meet up with you Link to comment
dnoblett
The moment they arrive in the USA the POE officer will stamp passport with I-551 stamp this = green card. The I-551 stamp allows work and re-entry from trips. Wait 2 weeks and then apply for SSN. The actual card arrives a month or so after entry to the USA. Link to comment

Missingyou
There is a Chinese speaking translator at SeaTac Airport. That translator in fact speaks Korean, Japanese and some Cantonese other than Mandarin. If your wife's parents have any difficulties speaking with the officers, I am sure they will call that lady over to help. Link to comment
