jamin55
Hello all. Nice to be back and see your post again. So I'm at the point of renewing my green card for my Chinese wife.It has been almost 2 years since she has been in the U.S. Wondering if anyone has any tips or pointers. Should I buy a guide like the USCIS web site sugguest? Is there really another interview we/she has to go through? It looks like it may cost just to download and send in this form?I Thought I would run this by some of you experts before I start to act. Again I'm in Foresthill, California close to Sacremento. thank you again for all the woderfull help and advice on this trememdus web site. Link to comment
dnoblett
You are not "renewing", you are REMOVING conditions of conditional residency. A few good guides: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29538 http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29296 http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31534 http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;page=751guide http://www.visajourney.com/faq/k1k2visa-re...conditions.html http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=86 Moving this topic. There is NO cost to download the I-751 form it is FREE from USCIS.GOV http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD There is a fee to file. $545 In most cases there will be NO interview, if you send copies of good evidence in with the I-751, more than likely will be approved without an interview. You will send the I-751 to USCIS California. USCIS California Service CenterP.O. Box 10751Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-1075 Link to comment

This is three months before two year anniversary of the date on the green card up until the date on the green card. I don't believe they forgive missing this date, like they do the first. So the sooner you file within this window the better. I didn't buy the guide. My wife sailed through without an interview. Just use the USCIS website and information you find here and you'll be fine. No one knows if they will request an interview or not. You will send the I-751 to the California Service Center. They may do the processing or they may opt to send it to another service center if they are backlogged. California Service Center is known for processing I-751's without an interview. The best thing to do is make sure and place as much supporting documents with the application as possible. This is the only way to try and lean the decision in your favor without interview. If you fail to add enough evidence, they will request an interview. As always there is a filing fee. $465 + 80 = 545.00. Good luck Link to comment

The CR-2 had to get their green-card within 90 days after the CR-1. Base petition fee plus $80 biometric services fee for all conditional resident applicants. Each conditional resident child listed under Part 5 of this form who is a dependent seeking to remove their conditional status, is required to submit an additional biometric services fee of $80, regardless of age. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD Link to comment
