Port Of Entry? Any International Airport??

Recommended Posts

I do not think I have heard any thing about this...

Can my Incoming Fiancee and her Son from China fly into any U.S. City/International Airport??? or do they need to fly in a certain Airport coming in with a K-1 Visa...????

I live in Tampa, Florida but of course always flew into Seattle Washington or New York coming in from China...before going to Atlanta and then Tampa...

Thanks, Mark

If they fly United, then they could arrive in Chicago as POE.

Historically, the only advantage of arrive at JFK was that they are one of the very few POEs who still issued an "authorized to work" stamp; but in reality, what arriving lady is going to work within 90 days of it's expiration? If that is her goal.. better second think her arrival :)

Find the easier flight for them...

The first international airport in the USA will be the POE.

Technically if connecting in Canada the airport in Canada is the POE, BUT DO NOT try this, many of the airlines flying out of China do no know this and will not allow you to board the plane.

Note, since the beginning of Apil employers need to comply with I-9, and the "EAD Stamp" is no longer good enough to allow work, the person needs an actual Photo EAD Card to meet the requirement of I-9.

I've always been confused if you were allowed to use Canada as a POE from China, as I had looked at this possibility for Yin and I flying home through Toronto on Air Canada. Canada requires Chinese to have a transit visa, but I wasn't sure how to get that visa (I remember even writing the Canadian embassy in Guangzhou about that). I think you would be better off to select a POE in the USA.

Technically an AP doc, or Green-card will allow connecting in Canada without a transit visa. Green-card should have no problem because green-card allows visit to Canada without a visa, AP allows connecting without visa, but most airlines do not know this.
