I-130 Processing

Recommended Posts

We are currently going through the process to bring my wife's parents here to live with us.

I have a few questions. First, they say to print out a document coevr sheet enclose it in the envelope marked documents only. The cover sheet and the envelope show two different addresses. They must be right next door as one shows 131 street and the other is 132 street. It also warns that sending to the wrong address could delay processing. So do they go in the envelope or do I need a new envelope to return the documents?

Also, they sent us a choice of agent form. Lisa's friend told her most petitioners fill it out and sign it for the family member. If they ask Lisa's parents, we will tell them to say they filled iy out. Can you think of any problems with doing this?

As always, thanks in advance!!!

Who is "they"? Where are you getting advice (the addresses) from?

I assume this is for an I-130 CR visa?

From the I-130 "Where to File":

Any U.S. resident petitioner submitting a completed I-130 by courier/express delivery, should use the following address:

USCIS Lockbox

Attn: SAI-130

131 South Dearborn ¨C 3rd Floor

Chicago, IL 60603-5517

Randy, it sounds like maybe the NVC is requesting the documents, but I think the question should be clarified, Mike & Yizhen

Yes - clarification! But I found the NVC address, which maybe he mistook for 132 -

National Visa Center

Attn: WC

32 Rochester Ave.

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909

Sorry, Let me clarify

My wife is a USC and we are filing IR5 visa for parents. USCIS approved this in two weeks. Now it is at the NVC. I paid the AOS filing fees online. It says to follow the instructions, which are not quite clear.

It says, print the document cover sheet, add requested docs and place it in the envelope marked documents only-No Payment. I printed the document cover sheet. The address it has is:

National Visa Center

Attn: CMR AOS

32 Rochester Avenue

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909

The envelope address shows:

Attn: CMR

National Visa Center

31 Rochester Avenue Ste 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

So which one is best to send it to? Should I just use the supplied envelope?

C4Racer, the AOS address is for the I-864 Affidavit of Support, and the CMR envelope is for both of their DS-230's and their documents. You should PM Lock, for better answers, their parents just got pink this week!

Your CMR zip code is different than mine, it must be for the IR-5's. Good Luck, Mike & Yizhen

Well, scratch these questions. Parents are coming on an IR-5 visa.

I read further on about NVC processing. There is a pilot program for electronic processing. Santiago Chile all visas and Guangzhou, China for IR5. I can send all information into the NVC through email !!!!

All I need is access to a scanner. Hello, I am a Certified Document Imaging Specialist. In layman terms I help customers design and implement document management / scanning systems. So looks like we will be doing this process through email !!!
