Bill & Li Hong
My petition was forwarded to GUZ a month ago. I would like to get my I-134 supporting doc. ready, Letter from my employer and bank statement, to take over to China in May when I'm visiting. Is there a expiration date for these? Her interview probably won't be until Aug. Link to comment
dnoblett
Should be fine to do one now after you filed your taxes. The I-134 tends to have a 5-6 month shelf life, simply send copies of a few pays stubs closer to the interview date to add to the I-134. The directions included with I-134 are very old, USCIS has no reason to update them since USCIS has no application for that form. The consulates tend to treat the I-134 like a mini-I-864 as so prefer the same financial evidence as the I-864. In our case this what the I-134 included. I-134. SIMPLE Tax transcripts from the IRS for past 3 years, (Redundant for the (1040,W2,1099) but are free from the IRS http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq/0,,id=199557,00.html Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years (Not necessary if you provide the transcripts) Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead. Photo copies of past month or so of pay stubs up to a few weeks before the interview. My income was well above the povertyline so I did not include any asset data (LIKE BANK STATEMENTS or property values). If your income exceeds 125% of the povertyline when counting yourself, prospective immigrant and any dependents, then don't bother with assets (401K, Bank balance, Stocks etc..), it is just extra un-needed data to provide, the consular officer is most concerned with INCOME. Bill & Li Hong
I have a letter from my employer I had made when filing the I-129F in Dec 08 but didn't need it. Do you think with current pay check stubs this would still be good? I have been employed here 35 years!!!! Link to comment

david_dawei
One way around the whole, "is this enough thing", since one doesn't know what the VO will ask for... is to bring the three main items:1. I-1342. taxes3. employer letter Put together in a folder. WHen any one of the items is asked for, must have her hand over the folder to say the VO can take whatever he needs. BTW: I leave out bank statements since it seems forever since they have ever asked for that. In the off case they ask off the bat, hand over the folder.. the drill is easy to follow... let the VO take what they want. This has proven in the past to cover not having one item, but having three other compelling ones. Edited April 15, 2009 by DavidZixuan (see edit history) Link to comment
