Received New Passport / Certificate?

My wife sent her Citizenship certificate along with her passport application on February 19th the day of her Oath. She receive her passport February 27th (9 days later) she still hasn't received her certificate back yet, has anyone else experience this and what was the time frame? or is this normal?

Did you send in the original? You should have only sent a copy. If you sent the original go back to the passport office and see if they can recover it for you. This is an important document and should be kept in a safe place. You can get new one but it is expensive.

We were told you needed to send the original and not a copy, though we made a copy of the certificate, we were told by the agent at the USPS passport counter that they should be returned separately.

Ella sent the orginal that was asked for and was returned a little over 2 weeks later.

My wife's original came back about 8 days after receiving the passport.

When I ordered my passport I sent in birth certificate. It was returned with the passport. Are they handled differently from the certificates?

I have a bad memory but I think we only gave a copy. I'll ask wifey.

Wife received her certificate Thursday March 5th, 2 weeks after mailing it to the Pasport center, we were going to go to Social Security and change her status to citizen Friday, but her work had a surprise citizenship celebration for her, they all sang America the Beautiful, had a ice cream cake, and gave her a large card of the American flag signed fron members and students at the college she works at.

That was very nice of them.

I appologize for the disinformation. After asking wifey we did send in the original. I remember making a copy but that was for social security not the passport. We did them both the same day.
