tywy_99
I think I am getting ready to panic. I was informed by NVC that my case was forwarded to GZ on 23 July. I have been emailing GZ about every 10 days. i recieved a few replies stating the case was under processing. The last two I received are simular to the one stating they have not received the case yet. I think I am going backwards here insteat of moving forward.jimb -----Original Message-----From: jimbnh@prodigy.net [mailto:jimbnh@prodigy.net]Sent: Thursday, September 04, 2003 9:25 AMTo: GuangzhouIVform@state.govSubject: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Dear Harold J. I would make certain of that first. It is the one real fact that one can know. Link to comment

By now nothing should surprise us in terms of GZ but this ranks right up there with the most glaring cases of double-speak and incompetence. What makes it worse is, unless things have changed, it is difficult to talk to a higher up in the GZ food chain. Have you tried calling one of the supervisors? Another thought, maybe you could fax a copy of these conflicting messages to Linda Donahue along with a note asking for clarification of status. Unless you can get to her, or one of the other Directors, you may continue to get mixed messages. I doubt they have lost your case. I suspect that whoever answered your email in October just wasn't paying much attention to what they were doing. Please keep posting as to your progress, or lack thereof. Jeeeezzzz! Link to comment

whoever
The longest wait between a NVC mailing date and a DHL delivery date is 79 days.no, the longest day of the hold up is not just that. My case was sent from NVC on May 9th. But, we didn't get our P3 until September 25th. So go figure. Link to comment
whoever
hahaha, Dave.I probably won't even know about this site if I work for the Consulate. And, if I worked for the Consulate, I'd make damn sure that those people are diligent on my case. Link to comment

pfsmunki
what's different between "namecheck clearance" and "securityclearance check",i thought NVC already did those check, why GZ do it again?"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." There are at least 3 separate checks done by/through DOS which includes NVC, CA and GZ. 9 FAM refers to them all as 'name check'. How can you be sure that everyone using the term means the same thing? You can't. VISAS EAGLE is sent to the FBI who coordinates with 10 different agencies to see if the applicant is a security risk. When DOS (or NVC) gets the response, they issue a Security Advisory Opinion. VISAS EAGLE is a criminal background check sent to the FBI to run through their NCIC and IIS systems. CLASS is a system run by DOS and is known as the Counsular Look Out Something System (I'm too lazy to look it up). It stores info any previous visa applications, visa problems, customs problems, etc. Which 'name check' is the problem?if we have any previous visa problems then we couldn't pass these check? right Link to comment
tywy_99
GZ says they don't have any record of our case. NVC says our case was forwarded to GZ on Sept 5. All the DHL shipments around that time (Sept 5 and Sept 8) show as having been delivered. Anyone have any idea how to shake our case free of this void? Yes, I'm emailing GZ IVunit once a week. Rob, Is your NVC mailing date Sept. 5th? I checked with DHL and they have delivered all mail of that date as you have said. There were three parcels altogether, 1) 1.5 lbs, 2) 6 lbs, 3) documents, all delivered. Sept. 8th mail has 4 parcels with one delivered and 3 in delay. The one delivered was listed as "documents" so maybe that is the petitions. Link to comment

You should save your reply and just do a canned response the same way GZ does. It saves tons of time! Really, it does!! Link to comment

Is there any way to connect our specific case with an specific DHL tracking number? Otherwise I'm just going on their word, which I take with an entire mine of salt. Link to comment
whoever
Robhon:I don't think you will find anything about your case until it's logged in GZ computer system. Even the Consular General won't be able to tell that. But, they can make sure that your case is still there, not lost. That's the only thing they could promise. Have you tried your Congressman? He/she could send a request to GZ and ask why it's taking that long for GZ to process your case. Despite what GZ may tell you with any reasons of delay, GZ may give you a "Provisional Case" number to flag your case. So they will take special care for it. However, I don't know how special they take care of it though. Give a try with your Congressman if you hit bricks of walls. Link to comment
