Can Shuyan get a EAD stamp at the POE, SFO International Airport? Can she work in the US before we are married? I have been so busy I moved also do I need to send a Change of Address? I am in a condo in San Jose perfect for Shuyan and I to start our lives together. Do I need to send a Change of Address? Whats Next? Thanks in Advance

About the EAD stamp - EVERY K-1 comes with 90 days worth of work authorization with or without the stamp - don't feel like you're missing out on something there.

You put your new address on the AOS application, which you file after you get her SS card and get married. Be sure to get the SS card within 76 days of arrival.

File for EAD and AP for travel with the AOS application.

any place on here or VJ that shows the exact steps to take? I have been so busy getting ready for Shuyan arrival. I have slipped up and not followed up on the next steps, I have moved and I need a breakdown of the steps to make sure I do it correct. Can someone direct me to the place that shows these steps?

After interview, my wife got her Vaccinations handled in Guangzhou before leaving China, the Yellow book was handy for later on when adjusting status.

Upon entry to USA on a K-1 the order of things:

Wait 2 weeks, then:

  1. GET SSN. (MUST BE DONE within 76 days of entry)
  2. Get Marriage license.
  3. Marry
  4. Get Vaccination record (Yellow Book) transfered to an I-693 by a US Civil Surgeon.
  5. File:
    • I-485,
    • I-864,
    • I-693,
    • G-325A (For foreign spouse only),
    • I-765 (For work permit (CODE (C )(9 ) based on pending I-485)),
    • I-131 if want AP doc in case of foreign travel while waiting for green.card)

SEND every thing to CHICAGO PO box specified by I-485

NOTE: K-1 is not a work visa, it is a fiancee visa for entry to the USA and marriage, K-1 is "Work Auth" primarily to be able to get the SSN, some states are strict in their interpretation of a federal law that requires persons applying for a "license" to have SSN, this can cause a problem with marriage license if only one person has SSN and the other (the K-1 holder) does not.
