MikeXiao
I have a different passport question. My family may be traveling back to China this summer. My daughter's passport expires July 6, 2009. Can she travel if she travels prior to this date? My wife is thinking of renewal in China. Link to comment
esun41
Generally when applying for a visa to put in your passport... you need to have 6 months or more of validity left on your passport. I may be incorrect! Check out a visa site like www.travisa.com Link to comment
esun41
From the travisa site... Passport Requirements: Send us your original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank visa page available for visa stamp(s). The Amendment pages in the back of the passport can't be used for visa stamp. Edited December 28, 2008 by esun41 (see edit history) Link to comment

esun41
Are you talking Chinese passport? That info could be different because from what I understand... Chinese passports can only be renewed in person at their consulates, so renewal in China is a good option. Link to comment
MikeXiao
Yep, Chinese passport. If she goes to China in, say, June, and her passport expires in July, will that be OK? Or should I be looking at a trip or 2 to DC? Link to comment

MikeXiao
I Hope so, it is easier to renew in China. Washington DC is a nightmare. Link to comment

MikeXiao
If they go this summer, they will not return until August. I think that they will not have any problems with this. Link to comment
