Find a good product on eBay, the more name brand the better it will be. That's what I do... normally cheaper than the stores... but with expensive electronics like computers, definitely pay more to stick with name brand or quality products.

I¡¯m not sure what you are trying to do here but if you¡¯re just trying to get her laptop working on our power system, it may be that all you need is a simple power cord with flat receptacles instead of the round ones that they have in China.

Most American brand laptops have a built-in power supply. The little black rectangular piece that plugs into your laptop is the power ADAPTER.

Some of them have a red switch and others you don¡¯t have to flip the switch because the power adapter does it for you automatically. All desktop models have a switch because the power supply is built into the computer and you must manually flip the AC conversion switch which is usually located on the back next to the power cord plug.

Depending on the model that you have. I would look on the adapter and see what the specifications are before going into a frenzy looking for a convertor.

You may be surprised that the adapter will self adapt to the power that we have here like the one shown above. All that you will need is the correct cable going form the adapter to the power outlet on your wall.

Your adapter may need either a 2 prong connection or 3 prong connection¡depending which one you need, these will work with you laptop adapter.

DC as in 12v DC Auto power from your car??

If so then any power inverter will do, I see them from time to time at Big-Lots for $20. Walmart, Target, Sears, etc.. Sell power inverters.

The AC adapter included with ALL laptops will run in any voltage from 100 to 240 volts AC.
