The curse of McD's and KFC

Recommended Posts

How do you figure this is related to McD's or KFC?

When I was there at least 95% of the customers I saw in those places were kids. I think the kid's diets, especially in the cities, is changing and becoming more like ours. Much more fast food than they've had in the past, leading to more childhood obesity and diabetes.

Before you ask, of course I don't have any statistical evidence. Just my own observations and common sense. ;)

Even though the article didn't go into an explanation as to why the increase in child obesity, anyone knows that a drastic change in their diet must be the cause.

From an American perspective and with American childhood obesity, it would be an obvious conclusion that changes in diets of McD, KFC or Pizza Hut certainly might be culprits.

Some others apparently agree. The consensus seems to be that fast food, less physical activity, and more modern means of transportation are major contributors. Another article mentioned that replacing the traditional diet with more meat and dairy is also a cause.

Another thing which might not help weight issues, is what I observe as a growing use of electric bikes in my wife's hometown, over the old fashioned way of pedaling...

There is lot of scientific evidence to support this. I have been very fortunate to keep my weight in the proper average all my life. I am very active in my daily life.

There has been studies about "The Amish Diet". They eat alot of high fat foods and still keep their weight well. Here is an article on this. Barn Raising anyone?

Unfortunately fast food will affect you if you dont counter what you're eating. Fast food isn't the real problem... LAZINESS IS. I have friends who have great bodies but eat tons of fast food, however they're very active peopel and work out and take care of themselves.

Obesity is always considered being the fault of the food, and not the person. We're the ones putting food into our body, so we should take responsibility for the figure we get as well. This is also like the thread where media was being blamed for the naughty behavior of youngsters.

Just teach your kids right and make them go outside to play instead of sitting and playing games, and this junk wouldn't be a problem.
