autumn
My fiancee's interview was in early August and she got a blue slip. We submitted the additional documents since then. I called DOS last week, and was told that her application is now in administrative process. I first thought every blue slip goes through it. Is that the case? Not knowing what it is, I did a a search on the topic on this forum and my heart started sinking. From what I read, not many people came out of it with pink slips. Is it true? Should I start to panic or despair? It seems also that it usually takes more than three months or even a year before there is a result. How many people got a result in less than three months? Thanks for information. I'd like to be well informed before I talk to her. Link to comment

tsap seui
She has not received anything yet. I called DOS and was told it is in AP. Is there any information about the percentage of APs walking off with pink? How much hope is there left? Hang in there buddy. It could work out for you guys. If she got a blue slip that asked for additional info, and she sent in the requested info then they may be in a "process" mode. With AP...additional processing and with AR...additional review, GUZ can flip you in and out of those two scary headings as they work your case. A little clue for ya...the DOS operators often interchange the words additional processing and additional review. Most of the operators will look at GUZ's files and the file may say...AR, yet the operator tells you AP. You have to politely ask the operator if the wording is AP on the computer, as most of the operators don't know the difference between the two, and most operators think they are the same thing. Good luck to you. At least she was asked for something, and she sent it in. That is good. Try e-mailing GUZ using their e-mail form on her blue card and look at what status THEY say the case is in. tsap seui Link to comment

Blue slip asked me to provide additional information about the timeline of my divorce and how we met, details of my visits to China. I sent that information to GUZ. All the information was available at the interview, but my fiancee did not get a chance to show it. When is AP status given, at the time of the interview when blue slip is handed out or after GUZ gets the additional materials and reviews them? Link to comment

This is all too confusing. I'll try to email guz. Thanks for the suggestion. Link to comment
dale7570
i don't think you should panic yet because you have not received info from guz stating that your in ap. perhaps their still processing your overcome documents, so dos says ap. only guz can answer your questions. we're all just guessing. try emailing and or faxing guz. good luck. ap normally means administrative processing. if guz notifies you that your in ap, then you should worry, but not panic. some people get thru ap with a pink. i don't know what the % is you would need to be patient. That made me feel a little better. Does that mean that at DOS, when the computer shows the term "administrative processing," it may just indicate that the case waits to be reviewed. Because that was what the girl at DOS told me over the phone. I'm afraid though that she is not familiar with the system at guz. I asked her if her screen showed the initial "AP" or the spelt out words "administrative processing," she said it was the latter. I emailed guz. It seems that the chance of their responding to it is very low though. Link to comment
