laptop & camera in GUZ

Hey Darnell and Dylan,

I can get anything made here in China ... that's part of what my business does ... just give me an order for a container full of CFL shirts and I'll get them made  ... I have sources for just about anything here :D

Right now I think the best I could do with such a short time frame would be to print the logo Dylan designed and attach it to my shirt with safety pins :P ... would look a little "tacky" :P perhaps but I don't think anyone would care much!

By the way Dylan, did you get Roger's permission to use his image or are we all in for legal hassles? :)

Have a terrific day!

Bob

What Roger don't know, won't kill him. ;)

(How can he block an imagine pinned to your shirt? You never know, you might start some crazy new fashion trend while you're there. I've seen some crazy things, and this idea is way better than a T-Shirt that just has the F word all over it... I saw that a lot on GZ.)

Bob - the intellectual property laws are different in China. Although the 'theft' occured in OKC, OK, USA, feel free to use it in GuangDong Province however you like.

Dylan, there's a good chance it's an illegal copy. If it was 'released to DVD' in China before being released to DVD in the USA, then someone either got a copy of it in a digital theatre somewhere in SE Asia, one of the former Soviet Socialist Republic entities, or in China itself. OR a smart boy with a digital camcorder set up his tripod inside the movie theatre (more common than the digital theatre theft, btw).

When you watch it, do you ever see any shadows of heads moving around? That's a good sign a guy with a tripod was inside the theatre. Was there an Interpol or FBI notice on the front bit of the movie? Thats a good sign this DVD image wasn't copied from the USA.

But hey - you asked me 'just like' - and I say no, it's not 'just like' - as the original IP (intellectual property) was stolen in your city by you, as opposed to the original IP of the movies being stolen NOT in your city, NOT by you.

Perhaps still stolen, nontheless. If she paid less than 20 RMB per platter, then is 80 percent chance it was stolen. This is common occurence in China. That electronic IP was stolen, and then copied onto media, and then made available from distributors to the retail shops in China. Where Wendy probably purchased it.

The path on The Roggie photo-shop isn't the same, is headed in the opposite direction. Also, prolly wasn't a major studio involved, being the entity who suffered the loss of the electronic IP.

Enough - I don't wanna hijack this thread any more. I will ask you to take a look around for software in any IT mall in Guangzhou - it's the same distributors that make the platters for the DVD / VCD movies.

No heads in the movie, but the subtitles to the movie are in English, but the subtitles don't even match up to the real movie's English, and instead it says some hilarious things. I am trying to get it on my computer so I can share it in another thread because I think it is so funny.

And we aren't hijacking Bob's thread, we are just keeping it alive and warm, ready for his return. :D

Hey Dylan,

Do you know if Roger owns a pair of horse blinders? and wears them? :toot: If not I'm sure he already knows!

I didn't have time to start a new fashion craze :toot: and don't have anything pink in my wardrobe so I ended up wearing double pink (aka red  ) to our interview and it seemed to work well enough so we're both happy :D

Hey Darnell,

Are you trying to tell me that they actually have intellectual property laws here in China  ;) :roller: I don't thinks those words even translate :secret: into Chinese ... when it comes to making goods here regardless of what it is this is the WILD WEST and anything goes! :draw:

Sometimes when I have products made here in China I'll piece out the project to several factories and have all the pieces sent back to the USA for assembly so no one here ever knows what the end product looks like. Patents don't mean much here!

Have a terrific day guys,

Bob

Well just like everyone said I had absolutely no problems taking my laptop and camera up to the coffee shop on the 4th floor. Even took some nice pictures of us with our PINK slip :toot: ... I'll post them in a few days with our interview questions on the other thread.

Thanks again everyone for your input!
