The author of this piece, Jack Ma, is the chairman of Alibaba and probably the leading guru of business in China. His contention is that the West must resist calls for protectionist moves against China and other developing countries. The trade imblance with China is already shrinking as China becomes more and more of a consumer of products from the West. Let's only hope politicians in the developed world are smart enough to agree with him...

Roger, one can hope that they are smart enough, but I won't hold my breath for this to happen. I don't have much faith in them to do the right thing.

The big guys want it to happen, but the class separation in China prevents the common people from being able to afford western goods. At least for now....
