Is A-Number issued when they get the green card? I don't think my wife has one yet when she came via K1 visa.

Tony, I think the A-Number is issued when you received 2nd NOA approving your original petition. Look at the letter you received for 2nd NOA. It should be on that form.

A-number is in the NOA #2 letter that you received long time ago, i suppose.

I had my A-number issued on my NOA1 with a copy of it on my NOA2, GUZ number is issued by the NVC.

I filed k3/4 petition. The A-number showed up on the I-797C approval by BCIS of the I-129f(2nd NOA). It is also on the I-797C approval by BCIS of the I-130.

 

Just a sidenote: I find it curious that GZ changed the GUZ number after acknowledging receipt of the petition. Is this normal procedure?

The A-number should've been written by the BCIS customs agent at the POE inside your wife's passport on the visa page. The agent should've stamped inside the passport and the A-number should be written within the stamp.

Same with us, in fact we thought Guangzhou made a mistake on the GUZ number, because as soon as I got the number from the NVC, I told her. Then she receives a different number from Guangzhou, and of course, we thought major screw up. But turns out NVC/GZ track using different numbers, but of course they both must use GUZ prefix to add unnecessary confusion.

We have a different GUZ number for the I-130.

Thats 3 different GUZ numbers we have had!
