You may work, you may get a Social Security card, whether you have the stamp or not. Some employers may like to see the stamp, but it does not carry any privilege that the other POE's do not provide. As far as I know you aren't suppose to be able to work and get that SS card until the AOS. But you did say rumor watch, please explain some more. As far as I know you aren't suppose to be able to work and get that SS card until the AOS. But you did say rumor watch, please explain some more. K-1 is ALWAYS work authorized, guy. Go to the SS office and get that SS within 10 to 75 days of arrival. The work authorization expires after 90 days, again with or without the stamp. The story about work authorization through JFK only is a MYTH - nothing more. What you get is a nice little stamp that you can show a prospective employer.
