What does Guz look at for the income requirements?

 

Do they look at Gross Salary or Net? I should be ok with both... but unless I explain somethings, the net might be kind of close.

NVC looks at gross income (per the I-864). It seems that GZ looks at whatever they want.

Thanks... I panicked a little when I was getting paycheck stubs together... I wasn't sure of the proverty level... I guess I would need about 10 or more dependents for my net not be enough... I was thinking I needed to explain deductionsm, such as 401, saving, health savings account, etc.... here is the officical say from the USCIS site I just found explaining income for someone else with a question on this.

 

For statistical purposes-to determine official income and poverty statistics-the Bureau of the Census defines income to include total annual cash receipts before taxes from all sources, with the exceptions noted below. Income includes money wages and salaries before any deductions; net receipts from non farm self-employment (receipts from a person's own unincorporated business, professional enterprise, or partnership, after deductions for business expenses); net receipts from farm self-employment (receipts from a farm which one operates as an owner, renter, or sharecropper, after deductions for farm operating expenses); regular payments from social security, railroad retirement, unemployment compensation, strike benefits from union funds, workers' compensation, veterans' payments, public assistance (including Aid to Families with Dependent Children or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Supplemental Security Income, and non-Federally-funded General Assistance or General Relief money payments), and traini ng stipends; alimony, child support, and military family allotments or other regular support from an absent family member or someone not living in the household; private pensions, government employee pensions (including military retirement pay), and regular insurance or annuity payments; college or university scholarships, grants, fellowships, and assistant ships; and dividends, interest, net rental income, net royalties, periodic receipts from estates or trusts, and net gambling or lottery winnings.

I beleive I do... it was him I thought of that made me get scared... But I think I should be fine.

I do a search before posting a new thread so I am not asking the same question but all I come up with is that a person needs to be 125% above the poverty level but I don't see any figures. I am sure I am well over these but just wonder.

search out the latest I-864P form. It shows the figures.
