THe numbers don't add up

After two weeks wait, and sleep with my belief that all this will be ended soon. I finally came to my sense and realized there is something definitely not right:

 

What we thought is true: There are 10,000 visa waiters (according to new GUZ boss) and there are 5,000 name cleared (acording to CA) and there are 500 name get processed (according to CA).

 

What is wrong: If there is 10,000 visa waiters backlogged in 6 months (from early june), that means GUZ process about 20,000 cases a year. Then they need process at least 400 cases a week in regular processing mode. And now, after 2 weeks "very busy" and overtime processing, they only processed 500 visas?!

 

What are the possibilities:

 

1. The 5,000 number was a lie from CA, the name check just drippled in. That is why last couple days no approve at all.

2. GUZ is really slow, the 5000 names need 15-20 weeks to process, and for the other 5000, expect next Christmas.

3. I am confused.

Very good point and this will be one of the main topics of our new letter to Powell. We need to know much more specifically what is going on.

I posted a few phone numbers here to help us get the proper information.

If in fact they are lying to us the only way to find out is for all of us to call CA or Powells office and just keep asking questions.

If CA wont help then we have to call Powells office to let them know that CA is lying or just not doing a very good job.

OH, this scares ME too!!!

 

P4s and interviews seem to have come to a screaming halt, so i sure hope someone there is working busily to clear these visas. You're right. 500/week=10 weeks and that's only the tip of the iceburg. about a month ago there was a post saying at least 8K visas were backlogged, so the 10K amount sounds about right.

 

Hmmmm...P3 was 10/1 so P4 will be in May??????

 

Oh, PLEASE tell me THAT won't happen.

The math I have done on this is , basicly something like this.

They will get to it when they get to it.

They dont know how long it will take.

Maybe this response will passify them.

We dont know how to fix this , but we're working on it.

We can't tell them it will be another 10-15 weeks. March or May.

(if they are only 10000 backlogged at 1000 a week(hopefully)thats 10 weeks any way you do the math)

 

Folks, unless Powells office hears from us every day, this will NOT get fixed!

I'm glad that Marty is in contact with GZ management, but you're right about keeping up the pressure. Yes, another letter is in store. IF they want us to stop bugging GZ so they can work, then they should keep us in the loop about GZ's progress, solutions to the problem, and a probable completion date.

 

Cuz SuJuan's P4 ain't coming until the logjam is cleared.

You are absolutely, dead-on 100% correct. Powell's office needs to hear from EACH and EVERY one of us every single day, by fax and phone. We don't have to flame, we don't have to be rude, but we MUST apply unrelenting pressure. I just had to tell my fiancee, who interviewed on 8-5, that there is no way she will be here for x-mas. Not a pleasant conversation. QUIT TALKING AND DO SOMETHING!!! Call and fax Powell's office EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! JUST DO IT!!!
