Recommended Posts

ok folks...i know i have seen this talked about recently, and i really hate to bring it up again so soon, but i have gotten the GUZ# now and i know i have read somethings about sending in some papers to guang zhou ahead of recieving the NOA3(P3)....can you tell me exactly what papers can be sent in early?...i remember something about DS-230's...a part#1 and a part#2..right?...is the part #1 of the ds-230 that can be sent in early?....and is the the only form that can be sent in early?.....and how early can it safely be sent without taking the chance on someone misplacing or losing it?....what enclosures requested in the P3 can be included with the form to be sent in?

Nothing to do at this point but wait the 3 months or so for P3.

You can prepare DS-230 part 1 (Page 1 and 2) and OF-169.

DS-230 part 1 only for K-Visas.

I gave it 3 months and then started calling DOS on Fridays for status. Once I knew the consulate mailed out packet 3 we were prepared to send OF-169 and DS-230 part 1 to the consulate in the envelope sent out in the packet.

Some send DS-230 part 1 and Of-169 to the consulate as soon as they know P3 was sent out by the consulate, NOT BEFORE.

Awhile back, in days of old, when members like Dan and many others, blew through the process from NOA-1 to Interview, in seven months; this sort of stuff didn’t matter that much.

But in the current time frame, with the NOA-1 to NOA-2 times running 135 to 150 days, and the time from CSC to NVC running about 30 days, and then the NVC another 2 or more weeks, before being sent on to GUZ; any shortcut there is which may save even one week, is priceless.

I, and others here who filed in the May/June and onward time period, will have seven months of water under the bridge, before our file even gets to GUZ, let alone an interview date.

I pay my taxes, I served my country Honorably, I don't have so much as a parking ticket in my NCIC file, I get a haircut every two weeks, and I am married to this woman I adore, for over a year; but this process drags on and on; and yes, you will still get that smug individual on the phone bank, at the NVC, who talks to you like you are a second class citizen, or a law violator, no matter how polite and courteous you are to them !! :surprise: B)

Just something I think I should add from my experience of ACH. The VO I spoke to (A choppy white lady in the 40s) is extremely nice and helpful who also interviewed Lulu and gave her no hard time. I chatted with 2 other person (Rick and sash) in the coffee shop while I waited for Lulu's interview. Both of them stated they talked to a same VO (a skinnyt white lady in the 30s) at ACH who has a amazing attitude. She told them, I quote, "Why you come to ACH if you have no question to ask. I know you are in CFL. They told you to come to ACH (none of them are the members of CFL).....

It does take a little luck. There are some differences between VOs' and DOS Visa Specialists' attitude.

Best wishes,

Gino & Lulu
