She cares nothing for jewelry and won't wear any kind of jewelry at all. That's peculiar, even from a Chinese lady, but that's the way she is. No gold or white gold, they do not like it. So like a goof I went a got one big rock, she asked why so big and was it real?? She did not put it on at first and was unsure of why I gave it to her already. They do only wear one ring and normally not very flashy. I could have made one more trip on that rock!!!!!!!!! My lady wants a ring and didn't know about the "two ring" western tradition until my friend Dan's Chinese wife told her. heh. Shes never been married before, so to her, the ring is a special thing. tywy_99 Posted October 30, 2007 Report Share Posted October 30, 2007 This topic on rings brings up an interesting point.The younger generation of Chinese women, between 22-42, likes jewelry, and they like rings from their fiance's, because they enjoy much more freedom than generations before them. They have gotten a taste of the western world and they want to be a part of it unlike the generations before them that were isolated and under strict communist rule.Todays Chinese women are free and being such, they want to enjoy their freedom. One day her rich husbands business ran into trouble because of bribery, and he ended up in prison. After she had mourned the loss of her rich husband, she remembered the man who had given her the paper ring. One day the woman accidentally met the man on the street. The man generously invites her to his home. It turns out that the man had already married and was living in a rental apartment. She noticed that the home the man had was still very simple. His wife brought some tea, and to woman noticed that his wife was wearing a paper ring like the one she had been given. After leaving the woman realized that the man had become very happy. And that his wife had a lot more than her because her husband is with her and not in prison. Later the woman read an article in a magazine. The topic of the article is "Paper Ring", and it was written by the man. After she read the article the woman understood everything. She went back to her drawer box and found the old dusty paper ring. She very carefully opened the paper ring to find a real platinum ring inside.
