Visa not at post office when promised!

My fiancee interviewed July 30 and was pink slipped. Yay!

well,

except she was told to go to the post office August 1 (now, it's August 1 in China) and...no visa. No explanation. No nothing. She and her brother were supposed ot leave by train this night. That's all gone to poop. He's trying to trade in or get money back for the train ticket and we're both freaking out.

 

I've sent the consulate a frantic e-mail. I have a phone PIN, but of COURSE, no one is there now who speaks English.

We and several others had to wait an extra 4 days last April

Just so you know, there was one couple that got pink in the interview, and then was handed a blue slip at the post office... that was just wrong for the consulate to do that. I dont remember what they had to do to resolve the blue and get the visa...

 

However on the positive side, yes, I have seen others post that the visa was delays some extra days. I think one was even 7 days, but they got the visa.

update:

she got the visa just now (one day later than promised). No explanation from GUZ and no reply (yet) to my e-mail and FAX.

I believe there were a few cases for this earlier this year, and the explanation from the consulate was that they had some printing problems on their end. However, there should be an explanation provided to you. At this point, I wouldn't worry too much (I know, easy for me to say! ), and the question in GUZ speaks can be found here.

Actually that was a white slip, the consulate found out after the interview that the beneficiary had attempted to travel to Canada and was denied by Canada because of false info on the Canadian visa application.
