I write in behalf of those couples who do not share a common language. I myself am the progeny of a cross-cultural relationship with my mother as Asian and my father being an Anglo-American. They did not share a common language in the beginning, but were married for 18 years before she succumbed to Lupus in 1988. My father was devastated.

 

Throughout my adolescent life I have witnessed countless successful marriages between Asians and Americans who produced beautiful and successful children. Yes, the odds are stacked against these relationships, but I have never witnessed a divorce.

 

What I'm saying is that anything is possible if you're wlling to put forth the effort.
