  1. What about the Fins? AFC East Champs!
  2. I'll go as far as to say not in your lifetime, unless they move to Canada.
  3. Thanks for sharing the pics Amanda and Richard. They were very entertaining. We want more!
  4. It's not over yet. I believe they still will prevail! B)
  5. Of course we intervened because at the time we were friends with the ROC government, and not the PRC one. If your friend was beat up and kicked out from his house to live in the dog's house, would you stop being his friend and become the person who beat him up's friend instead? That wouldn't be very nice... Oh, and I'm a southerner hehe. We tried to get other countries to intervene but no one would  Would China like to declare me the ruler of CSA to pay America back for Taiwan? I'd like Hawaii please Oh, but Jason, England did intervene in siding with the CSA by providing arms and importing Southern cotton.
  6. Wishing the best for you both.
  7. You are very resilient and strong-willed woman, Jany. Thank you for sharing your stories and we all hope continued and future success with your family and business.
  8. Skip the foot massage (IT FEELS SO GOOD WHEN IT'S OVER BECAUSE IT HURTS SO MUCH WHILE THEY'RE DOING IT) and go for the full body massage Dave... Depends who your masseuse is. I've had foot massages in northern, southern and western China, and most were pleasant...except that one in Kunming that felt like my bones were being crushed.
  9. Keep em' coming. I think members sharing photos is the most entertaining aspects of CFL. BTW, thanks for sharing those nice images.
  10. Rog Rog Rog...You should know by now that if someone doesn't actually SEE something with their own eyes in China it obviously doesn't exist. After all, in a country the geographical size of China with a population of 3.1 billion, how hard can it be to have seen every square inch and every single person? Sorry for the minor correction, Dave, but it's 1.3 billion. You're not dyslexic when it comes to numbers, are you.
  11. Roger, I know you have a burden for the poor of the world, and it seems that you think they are victims. There are indeed poor in every country in the world. So, what is the solution? Would you suggest that the government create programs for them so that they can have money, food, and an education? If so, where does that money come from? Taxes perhaps? Well since you are now paying taxes in America and China you must be more than willing to do your part and I'm sure the poor thank you very much... Socialism just doesn't work Roger. Spreading the wealth around by taking from the rich and giving to the poor sounds like a nice thing to do, but in the end, it destroys the very thing a nation tries to do; things like creating jobs, and growth. Remove the incentive for business by raising taxes, and you lose jobs. When you lose jobs, people suffer. Uh, Jesse, tell party members that Socialism doesn't work for the PRC. And tell that to the elderly receiving SS and Medicare benefits to get by and stay alive in this country.
  12. IN ENGLISH???? AIMS NOT TO LET MOST OF THE PEOPLE KNOW!! Many stores sell American cigarettes. The warning I described is affixed to each of the cigarette packages, and written in English. I think that's a good thing, don't you? And maybe the same warning should be applied to Twinkies.
  13. Looks like her cooking instruments have seen much use. Was she somewhat apprehensive that you were taking snapshots, or were you "shooting from the hip." We want to see pics of you gorging yourself like a remorseless American eatin' machine. Looks yummy!
  14. Who cares! I'm just happy The Fins won more than one game this season.
  15. I noticed banana flesh is more dense than our western counterpart, but still delicious.
  16. It's funny observing lao po playing with all the Halloween accoutrement in the dept. stores. She's pressing every button, resulting in a dizzying flurry of Halloween sounds, then placing wigs and witch hats on my noggin. "You very scary!"
  17. Good post. Was the bread similar in taste to nan (Indian flatbread)? I always wanted to sample street hawker food, but like your wife, Mengwei is squemish, too.
  18. LOL...., It's hard for me to keep my wife's attention for more than a couple minutes.... Seems like it would get pretty boring real fast... That's a good suggestion by Dennis. Try http://wordpress.com/ to set up a free blog. You can provide a link that could be pinned on this site. It would be beneficial for those wanting insight of living as an expatriate.
  19. ...or why Bactrian camel hump, jellyfish with cinnamon, proboscis monkey soup with five flavors, and barbecued elephant trunk, is not on the dinner plate. I sure hope Don reads this... I know he would want to sample some of these delicacies... As long as it's not skunky or boiled.

  21. Shootin' bottle rockets out yer ass again, Jesse? If anyone can get high off gunpowder, it must be you. What was the Japanese soldier taunt during WWII? Oh, yeah! "Go home Yank! Babe Roof suck!"
  22. Tsingtao tastes like a typical German pilsner, as it was founded by German settlers in 1903 in Shandong Province. Those quart bottles are a good complement to Hot Pot. Yum! I miss China!
