jdogg
My SO just got her Visa and POE instructions which states to the effect that to make sure the SO present the X-Ray with her Visa at POE. But she mistakenly opened the sealed X-Ray envelop the other day. Is this going to be a problem? Should she go back to the hospital and try to get it re-sealed? Thanks Link to comment
dnoblett
It may be a good thing to do to go back to the hospital and get resealed. You don't want anything to cause a problem at the POE. Link to comment

Thanks I don't know if that would be a problem? My wife and I went through customs POE and they didn't even ask her for her x-rays. She still has them at home to this day. I know we had taken so much precautions to make sure they arrived undamaged then they said they didn't need the x-rays. Edited October 20, 2006 by BillV 8-16-2004 (see edit history) Link to comment

Jiaying's was looked at by a security guard at her AOS interview. He cracked the seal just enough to peak in and see that it was actually an x-ray. Her son also broke the seal on his. I told her not to worry about it. If it's convenient enough for her to drop by and get a new envelope, it's probably a good idea. Otherwise, I'd say just go with it as is. Link to comment

I agree if she can explain what happened and get a new envelope great, but what I saying is it appears they are not even required or asked for. I would be curious if any ones SO have been ask for the x-rays at their customs POE. Link to comment

Rakkasan
An X-Ray of what? Is this an X-Ray taken during the medical exam in GZ? Is it a chest X-Ray? If so is a magnification X-ray required to make it visible? hehehe... Inquiring minds want to know. Edited October 20, 2006 by Rakkasan (see edit history) Link to comment

The only one we know of that was even looked at was my wife's at the AOS interview. With travel the way it is in China, for most of our SO's it is a day or longer to get back to the hospital for a new envelope. A judgement call here, for sure. But even if she were to be asked for the x-ray, she would have it with her - just not sealed. Edited October 20, 2006 by Randy W (see edit history) Link to comment

Rakkasan
A sealed envelope might be of benefit, however if Chinese X-rays are anything like US X-Rays her name should be on the film so even if the envelope is opened they can compared the name on the X-ray to her passport. jdogg
Thank you all for sharing your experiences. Seems to me that it will be okay if the X-rays are not in a sealed envelop (my SO's name is on each of the X-rays). Thanks again for your time and good luck to all who are still going through this complicated process. Link to comment

They are. I have two x-rays of my butt bone taken from Yi Shan hospital in Shanghai. My name is embedded in each x-ray. Link to comment
