My wife learned a lesson when she thought her credit card works like a debit card! What a "rude awakening" that was when she finally realized what a credit card was all about...and what "debt" really is!

Man....this poll routine has gotten tough!...where's the manual for it???

 

I started a poll with choices but for some reason it didn't show up. I listed all the credit cards a choices, including Diners. Also a choice of, "none", "yet to get one", or "not a chance."

 

The poll topic, or rather, a question was, "My wife has..."

 

I lost it all after posting. Ho Hum

 

Can someone fix it? If not, it can be removed.

Jiaying has a card for our VISA account. Everything is charged to it.

 

I'm glad she doesn't read English, because she gets plenty of applications.

My wife is going nuts with credit cards. She applied to several store credit cards to get an extra 10% saving with first purchase. I told her that having too many credit cards is not good.

Have you shown her credit score to her? And explain the "ins and outs" of the score and what it means and how it's affected?

Not yet. I told her if her purse get stolen, then she has to contact all her credit cards company.

My wife doesn't have a credit card. I just opened a checking account. I will send her the debit card when I get it. I want to be able to send her money without problems. I haven't been able to do much for her yet, I hope for her to buy her somethings soon.

 

I will wait until she is here to start to build her credit. No rush for that

Jingwen is on our joint accounts, so she has both a credit card and a debit card. In China, there was only one medium of exchange for her - cold hard cash. She rarely uses either, but she does know the difference.

 

My step son has quickly learned that good credit is an absolute must here in the US, and we went the secured card route to help him establish his credit. After a year of good history, the card went unsecured. Now, that kid gets more credit card solicitations that I could ever have imagined.

My wife just received an unsolicited 'you're already approved' credit card application from our frequent flyer program. She doesn't work. How they approved her, who knows? We sent it in feeling 'what the heck,' let's try it.

I still get pre approved applications for my dog, and he died 3 years ago. Still have no idea how they got his name and address.

But you do need them to reserve hotels unless you send the hotel a check deposit.
