A beneficiary's notarial birth certificate does not need to specify whether the beneficiary's parents have passed away or not. It's possible a consular officer may want proof of the beneficiary's parent's death, however, if it is pertinent to the relationship in question. In general, it's best to be prepared with supporting documents! Link to comment
