Getaway during your GZ interview journey

Have you ever thought of a getaway after your interview in GZ? There are actually a lot of nice places near Guangzhou where you might consider spending 1-2 days at with your love ones. Here comes my recommendations:

 

1. Conghua

Conghua is part of the greater Guangzhou, which is famous for lichi and the hot springs. it's about 1 hr by bus from downtown Guangzhou. A Deluxe 2 Days Tour costs about RMB200-300 each, depending on accommodation.

 

I went there twice and enjoyed the hot spring resort a lot. The Bi Shui Wan resort is the most famous one in Conghua.

During summer time, you can also enjoy the "lichi feast" with very reasonable price. Picking lichi on the trees brings lots of fun.

 

 

2. Zengcheng

In adition to its Lichi festival, the recently discovered waterfall "Bai Shui Zhai" in Zengcheng makes Zengcheng another tourist attraction. As part of the greater Guangzhou, it only takes about 1.5 hrs from downtown GZ to Zengcheng. A Deluxe 1 Day Tour is around RMB100.

 

 

3. Qingyuan

Qingyuan is famous for hotspring and the delicate chicken. Qingyuan chicken is a must-eat. The qingxin hotspring resort is elegantly designed, good for love birds. You can also enjoy some "grass ski" there which may be an interesting experience.

Qingyuan is about 2 hrs by bus from Guangzhou. A Deluxe 2 Days Tour is about RMB200-300 each. Some guided tour also offers a cruise on Beijiang (the North River), a tributary of the Pearl River. I had a fun time in Qingyuan when I was on my vacation there years ago.

 

 

4. Beaches

Shangchuan Island and Xiachuan Island in Taishan, Hailing Island (Zhapo) in Yangjiang are the 3 traditional beach resorts. If you want to have some beach fun without travelling too far, these 3 beaches may meet your needs. Cory and I went to the Hailing Island last May and we had a good time there. It was not very populated and the living costs were low. The hotel (4 star) we stayed there was only RMB250 a night. A good place to enjoy some quite romantic moments.

5. Zhuhai

The recently open Ocean Spring Resort is a great place for family and love birds. With all the recreation facilities, you will not feel bored at all.

7. Zhaoqing

If you enjoy hiking and relaxation in forest, Zhaoqing is an ideal place to go. the Seven-star Rock Scenic Area and the Dinghu Mountain Scenic Area are the most famous spots in Zhaoqing. Oh, if you are in Zhaoqing, remember to get some Zhaoqing Guo Zheng Zong (Zongzi). ummmmm yummy...

the boat to Lotus Mtn.

 

Come back and do some shopping and then

sign up for the dinner cruise.
