Mick
In our ongoing efforts to get out of here post haste, it looks like our best package right now involves flying in to LA International with connecting flights onward. My question is, has anyone recently gone through this Port of Entry? Did they allow you to go through the line with your loved one, or did you have to go through a separate line for US Citizens? Calvin
I went through there three times, latest one was this past January. Yes, U.S citizens and non-citizens use different line, but the lines are very close together so no need to worry about losing sight of her. Link to comment
AZwolfman
I would also be interested in current customs procedures at Tom Bradley International in LAX. My fiancee may be close behind you, Mick. I know this does not answer your question, but if you need help finding your way around TBI, there is a map of Tom Bradley International Terminal here.Complete map ofLAX terminal here. Mick
Thanks for the info Calvin and the map is very helpful AZ. Thanks. I would expect she will have to go through a different line than me but I was just hoping that it might be possible to accompany her. With war in the offing, I suspect airport/border security is going to be tight to say the least. Link to comment
Calvin
You are welcome, Mick. Azwolfman, how do you add the web links to the body text like you just did? I am a not that good with this technology. Link to comment

Click on the one labeled, "http://", paste the URL in the window that pops up. Click OK. In the next window, type the text that is to be linked. OK. Link to comment

Knowing I would be making this same trip with Lisa in the future, I made a point of asking the [then] INS officials at LAX about accompanying her through the entry process. The officer in charge told me even though the lines are differentiated into "citizen" and "non-citizen" categories, they would permit me (a US citizen) to be processed back into the US through a non-citizen line without difficulty. The only time I'd be excluded would be at the actual Point-of-Entry (POE) processing. Granted things may have changed since then due to security issues, but it won't hurt to ask for permission to do this when you arrive. I've found the INS [now BCIS] folks I've met and talked with at LAX to be very friendly and understanding, especially about K-1 issues. Link to comment
bobmal99
I came through SF last month with my sweetie and Sandy Yu. I went through the same line as Lili and Sandy Yu. I just told the Immigration Officer they were nervous and asked me to go through with them. It was never a problem. I am sure it is done at many POE's throughout the US. Link to comment

Should K1 go through the “new immigrants" or the "visitors" line? sy Link to comment

Hopefully Andre the Giant is off duty that day. Link to comment
bobmal99
In SF there were only two lines, American Citizens and Visitors. That is all just came through last month. They were very nice. Link to comment
