MikeandRong
Our military tinkered with that for years. I did some papers years ago back in school about seeding hurricanes. Each time it worked, it seemed that the storm would track back twords land, and they would pull the plug on the project. Then it would start up again, and the same thing would happen, and they pulled it again. No computers at that time, it was all books at the library I read, so I know the information has to be online now somewhere. My guess would be under hurricane hunters from the 1940-1950 date range. They did alot of research on it durning WW11. Link to comment
obxtrainman
I hope that wasn't what caused the excessive rain on the family farm!,, It ruined many of their crops My wife had told me of all the rain. She said it had made the harvest very difficult. Link to comment
Yuanyang
It's called 'cloud seeding'... was the rave of the '60s with overall pretty good results. As an aside: Kurt Vonnegut Jr (the writer) says that his brother was a key player in the development of the process. Link to comment
warpedbored
I knew the communists were messing with the weather. My parents told me all about it in the 60s. Link to comment

The north is in a drought and the southeast is having floods. They interviewed a local resident about "cloud seeding" where the drought is and she said it's had no effect what so ever, to my surprise they even went on to say that maybe it's a little to late. Not often does the state media have anything negative or critical to say about domestic issues. Link to comment
