Article: Chinese use chemicals

Recommended Posts

Our military tinkered with that for years. I did some papers years ago back in school about seeding hurricanes. Each time it worked, it seemed that the storm would track back twords land, and they would pull the plug on the project. Then it would start up again, and the same thing would happen, and they pulled it again. No computers at that time, it was all books at the library I read, so I know the information has to be online now somewhere. My guess would be under hurricane hunters from the 1940-1950 date range. They did alot of research on it durning WW11.

yep...

my family has lived in miami since flagler setup camp in the late 1800's and my grandfather told me about the tons of dry ice that they set out in the ocean to divert the storms...

just made massive amounts of rain and no diversion of winds.

i dont know why our meteorologists are not experimenting techniques like that still...

I had never heard of this occurrence... but  found it ironic that South Florida printed this article.. which is going through one of it's worse droughts..

The national news was talking about that here in China. The north is in a drought and the southeast is having floods.

They interviewed a local resident about "cloud seeding" where the drought is and she said it's had no effect what so ever, to my surprise they even went on to say that maybe it's a little to late. Not often does the state media have anything negative or critical to say about domestic issues.
