P3 Receiving by GUZ (my first post)

Hello!!!! My very first post so please go easy on me.

 

I've been lurking in the shadows reading this site for a few weeks and got my ID a few days ago. I hope I can add to the discussion and help others where I can.

 

I am currently living with my SO in our apartment in China awaiting her P3. I have one of those rare-lucky jobs that lets me work from anywhere in the world as long as I have a fast internet connection so I decided 2 months ago to stay with her full-time during the entire Visa Hell/Ordeal. I've been to China several times before I met my sweety. As such, the "differences" between US and here are not that new to me.

 

Ok, so you're probably wondering why is this post here and not in the "our stories" section... well... I am currently waiting for the P3 to be received by GUZ and I thought I'd post my little time-study on how the cases are received by GUZ from US to get a better sense for how many days it takes. I'm a supply-chain project manager for a major networking company so this kinda stuff is easy for me to do.

Destination Tariff Point:

--This is the airport code for Guz and will limit the results to just GUZ.

 

Results:

Average Days: 34.3 Days

Average without the values that are less than 15 days: 40.15 Days

 

The 40 day value is more what I expect to have happen, but I would like to have clarity on why some of the I-730s are received in less than 15 days. Fair is fair and nothing should get ahead of the line unless I'm missing something.

Welcome to CFL, you have come to a great family here. Nice job on the tracking figures. I see that since March 17, that nothing is longer than 39 days. Let us hope that the trend will continue with the shorter wait to be picked up and delivered into the GUZ system.

As you doubtless know this is a high interest topic for many here. Have you also looked at the tracking code EXPEDITE NIV SECTION? I don't think we've ever really decided if our K1/K3 stuff comes under I-730 or the alternate cited above.

 

Your SCM credentials could easily make you the resident expert in this area.

I've concluded the packages that clear customs quickly are expedited for specific reasons. You'll also notice they are one piece and less than two pounds in weight. I suspect they do not contain any of our cases, unless they have been expedited for some (probably known) reason.

My thoughts on this, completely unencumbered by facts i might add, is that these packages are the work related visas that are put on the fast track because of a $1,000 expedite fee.
